Who is “Coach Taiters”?
Hi, my name is Andy Tait, people call me “Coach Taiters”.
I haven’t always been “in shape”. Many moons ago I found myself in a bad place both physically and mentally. I was coming out of an unhappy relationship, I didn’t do any exercise, and I was turning to food for comfort.
I realized that I needed to do something to regain control of my health. However, at this point in my life, I wasn’t a personal trainer, I didn’t have a nutrition certification, and I had no idea where to start.
I jumped around from diet to diet. The zone diet, the 4-hour body diet, the Atkins diet, you name it, I’ve done it.
I did it because I didn’t understand the principles of sustainable weight loss. So despite my efforts, I was on an unsuccessful journey because I got caught up in the over-restrict and over-consume cycle. This was because, like others, I thought losing weight quickly was the thing to do.
I tried to cut as many calories as possible while doing endurance training. Over restricting meant I had cravings which I often gave into, this led me to over-consuming and never actually losing weight.
I wish I knew then what I know now.
With the knowledge I have now, I could have saved myself years of frustration, and could have gained the physique and fulfillment I have today in a much shorter period of time.
